2024-2025

Woman of the Year

Cynthia Griffing

This year, we proudly honor an exceptional woman whose dedication, leadership, and zest for life have made a lasting impact both professionally and personally.

An accomplished athletic trainer, Cynthia Griffing has spent her career supporting student-athletes with passion and precision, becoming a trusted mentor and role model in the world of sports medicine. Her commitment to excellence doesn’t stop on the sidelines—she has also served the Texas High School Coaches Wives Association (THSCWA) with distinction, holding key leadership roles including Treasurer, Regional Director, and Assistant Director. Her steady hand and collaborative spirit have helped shape and strengthen the organization for future generations.

At home, Cynthia shares her life with her husband Rob, a devoted football coach of 34 years! They have left their mark in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio with the following stops: Duncanville, Highland Park, South Lake Carroll, Keller, Fossil Ridge, Corsicana, Cy-Ridge, Concordia Lutheran, Judson, Reagan, Maddison, Katie Cinco Ranch, Katie Taylor, Kinkaid School and Bastrop. Together, they make a dynamic team, united by a shared love of athletics, service, and supporting student athletes!

But it’s not all work and no play. Cynthia has a well-known passion for Corvettes, enjoys hosting friends and family, and loves relaxing by the pool. She’s happiest when she’s traveling and embracing new adventures—especially when they’re filled with laughter, delicious food, and the joy of great company.

One of the nominations for Woman of the Year reads:

“As a dedicated member of the board of directors, Cynthia has played a crucial role in our organization. Her contributions extend beyond mere attendance; she is our go-to person for financial matters and has consistently demonstrated her ability to navigate complex situations with grace and expertise. Her analytical skills and attention to detail have not only benefited our organization but have also inspired others to enhance their own understanding of our organization.

Cynthia’s unwavering support for her husband’s decision to coach hours away to assist a friend speaks volumes about her character. This selflessness exemplifies her commitment to her family and community, showcasing her ability to balance personal and professional responsibilities. She understands the demands of coaching and the sacrifices that come with it, and her support has been a source of strength for those around her.

Beyond her impressive capabilities, Cynthia’s personality is one of her most endearing qualities. While she is a serious and dedicated individual when it comes to her responsibilities, she also possesses a fun and wild side that brings joy to those fortunate enough to know her. This unique blend of professionalism and warmth makes her not only a genuine friend but also a reliable mentor to many wives in our community.”

Her warmth, tireless service, and vibrant personality make her a beacon of inspiration to all who know her. It is with great pride and admiration that we name Cynthia Griffing our 2025 Woman of the Year
